Hello! I’m Alan – though over the years at weddings I’ve also answered to Al, Franko, “oi chappy,” “the Gloucestershire wedding photographer man,” “baldy,” and even “Steve!” (long story… Meerkat reference).
I’m proud to call myself a Gloucestershire Wedding Photographer. People often ask, “Why Gloucestershire?” For me, it’s simple – the Cotswolds are breathtaking, filled with beautiful venues and countryside charm. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph at many of them, and each one has its own magic.
Another question I sometimes get is, “Isn’t wedding photography stressful?” Honestly, it can be! After all, I’m trusted to capture one of the most important days of your life – from the excitement of bridal prep to the first dance, and every precious detail in between: the dress, heirloom jewellery, the heartfelt moments, the laughter and tears.
But here’s the truth: I absolutely love it. Every wedding feels like joining a family for a day, and it’s an incredible privilege to create images you’ll treasure for a lifetime – the ones that bring back memories and happy tears for years to come.
My approach to Gloucestershire wedding photography is all about capturing real, candid moments. Of course, we’ll still do a few classic shots with family and friends, but I prefer to blend into the background – quietly photographing the laughter, the tears, and those natural, in-between moments you might not even notice on the day.
Living in Cheltenham is fantastic, we’re surrounded by beautiful wedding venues across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. That said, I’m always happy to travel further afield if we’re the perfect fit!
I offer a range of wedding photography packages to suit different needs – from half-day coverage to full-day storytelling, with options for photo books and premium albums. Bespoke packages are also available if you’d like something more tailored.
Your wedding day will fly by, one moment it’s bridal prep, and before you know it, you’re on the dance floor wondering where the time went! My best advice is to take little moments throughout the day to pause and soak it all in… and let me handle the photos. I’ll be there to help however I can, and at one point after the ceremony (before the wedding breakfast), I’ll whisk you away for around 30 minutes. It’s a chance to capture some beautiful portraits – and for you both to simply catch your breath and enjoy a quiet moment together.
